Sun Hing Chang ( Sun Heng Jan – 新興棧食家 )

Let’s start the first store. Very suitable for breakfast, the legendary Hong Kong fish congee shop Sun Hing Chang (Sun Heng Jan – 新興棧食家), a popular restaurant among Hong Kong people, open daily from 6:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. Most of the customers are people in this area. The shop will not have an English menu. It is recommended to open the picture for the shop to see.

Our first bowl here is Fish Congee (60HKD). But give a lot of fish meat. Smooth porridge texture, a little clear, but mellow sweet taste. Similar to fish porridge, the rice is smoother and more delicious.

This bowl is Hong Kong Beef Congee (60HKD). This bowl gives a lot of meat as well. This restaurant’s meat is a bit bouncy, with big pieces full of bites. Meat lovers must try it, but the congee in this bowl is thicker than the fish bowl.

Stir-fried noodles (30 HKD) The uncle behind me ordered this dish. When he’s hungry, he can order whatever he wants, haha. The stir-fried noodles are delicious. But without meat, I can enjoy eating, but not very hot.

Patongo (11 HKD) Eat congee in Hong Kong. What you can’t miss is Patongo. I recommend dipping it with porridge. Delicious.

Kai Kai Dessert

After eating something fishy, Let’s have some dessert. This shop is Kai Kai Dessert. This shop sells Hong Kong-style desserts like bua loi in ginger syrup, black sesame sauce, and many more, both hot and cold. This shop received the Michelin Bib Guide from 2016-2022. So you can’t miss it. The shop is open every day from 12:00 noon to 3:30 a.m. Take MTR Jordan Station Exit A.

Black Seasame (add on dumpling) 27+8 = 35HKD. The thickness is just right Black sesame filling that is a little sweet spills out and meets very well.

Bua Loy in Ginger Sauce 26HKD This one is perfectly delicious. Bua Loy, chewy flour filled with fragrant and sweet black sesame seeds contrasted with slightly spicy ginger juice, is delicious.

Sweet steamed egg 28HKD. I’m not used to this one. But they are well made, have a smooth texture, feel like steamed eggs, are a bit sweet and fishy, and are acceptable.

Mammy Pancake

Mammy Pancake, a Hong Kong waffle shop that tourists must try As it is already a popular menu when visiting Hong Kong. And this restaurant also received the Michelin seal in 2016-2018, making tourists visiting Hong Kong. Must come and try it once. At the shop, there will be both savory and sweet fillings. There are many to try. You can come and try it at the storefront.

This time, there are 2 flavors of try powder, both of them are sweet. The first one is Original (20HKD). The inside part will be chewy. The taste is lightly sweet. I am enjoying eating. It’s called taking a walk and eating while having fun.

The next one is Earl Gray Chocolate Chip (36HKD). And there will be sweetness from the chocolate chips as well. This one will be a little sweeter. Really, I want to try the savory stuffing too. but not anymore I’ve been to many restaurants already.

Mak Man Kee

Mak Man Kee (Mak Man Kee), Hong Kong shrimp dumpling noodle restaurant It can be said it is a popular restaurant with local people. And tourists This restaurant received the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for five consecutive years from 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. It first opened in 1950; at that time, it was still a noodle cart. The egg noodles are sticky and crunchy at Jordan, and fresh shrimp dumplings bounce firmly. The shop is open daily from 12:00 noon to 12:30 a.m. Take the MTR to Jordan Station Exit C2.

For this restaurant, the area is quite small. The shop itself is not very small. But the tables are very tight because there are a lot of customers. Most often have to sit together at the table with other people. Or if there are many people May have to sit at separate tables, separate zones because customers are always crowded.

Dry Noodles with tender beef/brisket 52HKD The noodles are tiny. And very crunchy. The meat is soft, full of pieces, and fragrant.

Hong Kong Prawn Wontons (Tiger Prawn Wontons in soup) 44 HKD 7-8 wontons, 2-3 prawns in each ball, crunchy, aromatic soup, lightly sweet with scallops.
